About
Phillip discovers the commonplace. Things we don´t see anymore, because we see them too often. The disruption behind the facade. His photographic style traverses the mundane, to find the fleeting moments in which the invisible becomes visible. Phillip’s sense of adventure transports the viewer. He creates vibrant living atmospheres, pictures that speak to us: Between two simultaneously existing worlds.
After training as a photographer at the Physikalisch Technischen Bundesanstalt in Braunschweig, he studied communication design at the school of applied sciences in Potsdam. In 1999 he bicycled from Aachen, Germany to Barcelona. This trip was the beginning of a great passion. Since then there have been numerous photographic bike tours around the world. As an assistant for Daniel Josefsohn, Phillip sharpened his photographic eye and working as a Production Assistant with Matthias Neidhardt and “Upperorange” refined and tested his organizational talents. Phillip Zwanzig was born in Wolfenbüttel in 1980, and relocated to Berlin in 2003, where he continues to work as a Photographer and Designer. (Nora Linnemann, March 2013.)
